Problem with using my Apple iMac - can anyone help?

Go to solution

Hello 😀

Can you tell me why this service is turned off on my personal BT router?

Thanks if you can!

I doubt it has anything to do with BT.

Presumably you have an up to date iCloud+ account ?

Yes - everything is as up-to-date as one can get! 😎
It's named my BT router so it MUST have something to do with BT!!!

Apple Private Relay is an iCloud service similar to a VPN. See here https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT212614

Private relay is part of iCloud Plus (iCloud+) which is a subscription service, do you have an iCloud Plus subscription? if not then it won't work

@BoaterDave I've just re-created that problem and, at least for me, it's because "Limit ip address tracking" is turned off. Check your WiFi settings.

Hi Dodi 😀

Thank you so very much for your help with this.

There's always a reason for everything - and you 'hit the nail on the head'!

Would I be right in thinking that you yourself have an Apple computer?

Please let me know. If you really are an "expert" I may have another question for you! 😉

Yes, I do have an iCloud subscription in place.
As you'll no doubt note, that wasn't what was causing the 'error'.
Thanks for responding. 🙂
