I have just been trying to reply to an email, when this error message comes up:
"The message size exceeds the maximum limit, please reduce your message size"
This is just a text reply with no attachments, so why is it exceeding the maximum limit?
Fortunately I was able to send a reply by composing a new email from scratch as a workaround, but this shouldn't be happening, especially when I need to reply to urgent work emails. Has anyone else experienced this?
PS: Someone else was available to cover the shift in the email

Thanks so much for bringing this to our attention. I've flagged this with our support team, and I'll let you know once I have any further details.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
We've had a reply from our support team to say it looks the issue is related to an embedded image.
When using a browser/webmail to compose a reply, you may first need to delete unnecessary signatures/embedded images from the included original email, which should enable you to send the reply.
If you see this happen again, can you try the above and see if it works?
If you continue to have trouble, please let us know and we can flag it again.
