SPAM filter back

I thought I had sorted out the spam filter insanity some years ago, by setting up rules to move everything to inbox. The last month or so it has started moving vast numbers of emails into the spam folder. Has something changed? Can anyone suggest a rule which works?

Re: SPAM filter back

I am having the exact same issue. All my incoming emails are going straight to spam, and when moving them to Inbox, they revert to Spam. When ticking safe sender and not spam, they still wind up it Spam. What else should I do?

Re: SPAM filter back

Have you checked to see if your antivirus/malware program, if you use one, is doing this?

I don't understand. Are you saying that programs on my PC can move emails between folders in webmail?

How would I know if my antivirus was or was not doing this?

Re: SPAM filter back

Some antivirus programs offer Email protection that places markers on suspected webmail without the users intervention. I have no idea if those programs move items into the spam folder on webmail as I have not researched to find out if any can as I do not have any reason to. I rarely use webmail and I rarely get any spam for it to be an issue to me.

However you also have antivirus/malware programs that work on email clients/apps, such as those used on mobile devices and on PCs and laptops if the have email clients/apps installed, that place suspected email into the the email spam/junk folder.

If that email/client app is set up as IMAP which synchronises and replicates the folders on the email servers, if the antivirus/malware program places what it suspects is malicious/spam into the junk/spam folder this will be replicated on the BTMail server and as such on webmail when you use it.

You would need to check if your AV has Email protection and go into its settings to see if it is active. It might also be worth checking on the manufacturer's forum and pose the question there to see what it does with suspected spam.
