For the last 2 days I have noticed that the once prolific phishing email from 'Contact' has reared its ugly head again with its numerous - no doubt dangerous - attachments! However, before blocking and moving to spam (which makes no difference, by the way!), I made many attempts to forward the email to the government reporting address - report@phishing.gov.uk but the forward just will not send: I get an error message saying, "ERROR! We're experiencing issues with the service, please try again later" - it's been like this for 2 days now. I've been able to send/forward other 'normal' emails so it's not a general issue.
Why do you think it is a BT problem rather than a problem with the gov.uk service?
Hi, Thanks for your reply. I don't know for certain, but I did check online including on the .gov service to see if there's any mention of issues. Nothing mentioned. For what it's worth, I logged in to my email, just, and again a 'Contact' phishing email in my inbox. This time I have had success in forwarding.
As an aside, the issue remains that these phishing emails will keep coming. It doesn't matter how many times I identify it as phishing on the webmail feature (which then moves it to the spam folder), they just keep coming. I've also noticed recently that a lot of regular, genuine emails are sat in the spam folder. I check every day and I deal with it, but it's annoying this happens and I'm mindful that I could miss an important email.
