Webmail - Log in and get taken to screen with user name/password briefly then the three dots.....

Login via the sccreen with the standard screen using my email adress and password. Wait and don't get taken to my mail as usual. Get another screen -  user name and password boxes last a second or two and then the blue dots. Back to the second screen and blue dots. Continues for some time. Have logged out and tried again and the same things happens. It is now over three hours since the problem started - was using my email and it suddenly went the second screen to log in again.

On the chrome tab, it alternates between the message :

 email.bt.com/mail/index-rui.jsp?

v=MX_3.12.0.1

and the message :   email.bt.con/mail/saf/login.jsp

I have had this occassionally but never for so long. Is there an issue/has anyone any suggestions? Can access my email ok on ipad and iphone but don't have word on either so need to be able use my desk top. I use Chrome and do want to continue using webmail.

have you tried another browser to eliminate chrome as problem - say edge or firefox

Many thanks. Tried using edge and worked fine. So it is an issue with Chrome. Thanks for narrowing it down for me.
