BT TV Box linked to TP Link Router Issues

My Bt Home Hub is in modem mode as I have a TP link acting as my router to extend my in home range and functionality. BT TV box is connected to the router however the live TV feature is practically unwatchable due to lag and pixellation roughly occurring every 10 seconds. Streaming services on the box all work and buffer flawlessly with the 500mb package. Is there a way around this in the router settings or is it just 'one of those things' because I'm using an external router, I really would be grateful for any help.

Thanks

Re: BT TV Box linked to TP Link Router Issues

@Toz911

What hub do you have as they don't actually have a modem mode and what TP-Link router are you using.

Which BT TV box do you have and when you say that it's connected to the TP-Link is that by ethernet cable or wifi?

If it's by wifi and you've got the BT TV Pro box then that'll be the reason as TP-Link routers will not transmit BT TV subscription channels properly over wifi whereas the latest BT hubs will.
