Infrared IR code not working with BT YouView+ remote on EMtronics EM40HDRA 40" TV

I am trying to set up my YouView+ remote to control my new TV, an EM49HDRA 40" from Electric Mania.

According to the manual, the code is 0536 and when I asked EM customer support they suggested trying 0172. Neither works. The blue light on the remote only flashes 2 times instead of 3 and the TV  does not switch off during the setup sequence.

Has anyone succeeded in setting up this TV?
