Has anyone used the above router with BT? I am having terrible connection problems, I have 40mbps into my hub, but in the house, (ethernet or WiFi), it periodically drops to around 5, with a latency in the hundreds, so I thought about using a third party router, my son suggested thi sone.
Any thoughts?
I have reported it it BT who insist there isn't a problem. An engineer came out this morning and said there are no problems. I am in th efilm and TV business and work from home remoting in via PCoiP and this is killing me at the moment.
It's a basic but competent AX3000 class router. But if your incoming speed is just 40Mbps, you either need a modem router (and you'll lose DV if you have it), or you'll need to double-NAT behind your existing BT router. If the problem is the incoming signal, then the change is not going to provide any benefits - even the BT routers should be more than capable of making the most of a 40Mbps connection!
*oh and thanks to the poor on demand compression PCoIP will kill a 40Mbps link all on it's own, unless you use a seriously low resolution and framerate!
