An email about EMAIL account security

is the email received today titled KEEPING YOUR BT EMAIL ACCOUNT SECURE legitimate or scam?

Without knowing the full context of the email it is difficult to say but it is most likely a scam although BT were sending out emails about the settings if you use an email client. It is that take a note of it and check your email client/app settings if you do use one.

If in doubt just treat it as spam and in any event do not click on any links or reply to it.

As @gg30340 has mentioned here, it's always best to err on the side of caution if you're unsure of an email, and not click any links or share any details.

There are a few things I would like to check though:

1. If you check the sender, what full email address does this show as coming from?
2. What is the message actually asking here? Is it just general advice, or are they trying to get you to click a link / provide details
