BT Scams

Good afternoon, All

My wife received a very plausible scam yesterday purportedly from BT to the house landline. Details as follows:

The caller identified herself as BT employee Rose Parker (possibly Indian ?) with her personal ID No.of DL315410 and even gave our own ID No. of CLSD888DCA60 for this particular case and to put all our relevant details into : a btcomms email address. She even sent a pin number to my wife's mobile to verify her identity.

When asked to input details we declined and the phone soon went dead !

The odour of rodent was overpowering.

Re: BT Scams

Hi @ron69shep,

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with this fraudster. The personal details that they gave you are not ones that we would use.

We have a function that allows you to report scam calls to us. You can take a look at it here: https://www.bt.com/consumer/edw/scams/

Hopefully it showed up a number so our teams can look into them.

Don't worry about editing your post as I've taken care of that for you.

I hope you have a great day

DanielS
