Superfast Broadband Roll Out (Darras Hall) In Ponteland Exchange

Go to solution

Hi everyone I am looking to find out a little more information on when Openreach will be rolling out the superfast network in Darras Hall (middle drive) in particular.

I have searched on open reach and just said within the year and I was hoping someone here could shed more light on two things.

1.  When it will start / be able to order.

2. Will Middle Drive NE20 9DN be part of it and if so what dates please?

Thanks in advance

there is no connection from this community forum to openreach - are you a BT broadband customer or which ISP provides your current broadband

This is purely a BT customer to customer forum so there's no-one who can contact Openreach on your behalf.
Openreach are also constrained by OffCom not engage directly with ISP customers - the idea was to stop BT being too cosy with Openreach which used to be part of the same organisation.
You can check on what is currently available to you at: www.openreach.com/fibre-broadband/register-for-ultrafast but, apart from that, I think the information you've currently got is about as much as you're going to get.

Somewhere on the OR website there is a declaration of interest form you can submit.

In my own case, two years ago, I had a declaration of interest registered and suddenly, out of the blue, OR emailed me to say it was now available to order.

Quite a surprise really.  I'm retired and so about all day and I didn't see any work going on.   What I did see was a lot of working going on for CityFibre, so it may be that the OR upgrade was carried out at the same time and I didn't notice.  I have got the distinct impression lately, from watching the Better Internet Dashboard (Bidb.uk), that OR are incentivised to play catchup when an altnet starts installing in an area.  So, anything else going on your way?

Amazing thank you everyone I think I have all I need now and thought this was an open forum didn't realise it was just BT.

It should be done around 2026 all going well and in meantime I will just have to sign up to the 70meg service and hope I can get out of contract and upgrade to FTTH service.
