Hi, we have a cordless BT 3540 answering machine that has stopped working since we had a power cut.
The base charges the handset but doesn't do anything else, no lights on the base, no answer phone and handset just says 'no base link'
Any ideas? I've tried them both off batteries out, phone cable out.

Hi @Stevetcruk welcome to the community and thanks for posting. Unfortunately, it sounds like the power cut may have damaged the phone. I'd recommend getting in touch with the BT 3540 helpdesk for assistance as they'll be able to help diagnose the issue.

Did you try removing the power to the base unit for about a minute, as power interruptions can cause the base to lock up and partially reset?
I did yeah, was unplugged for about 15 mins, done that twice.
I think it's had some kind of power surge with we had the power cut and that's ruined it.
