BT Advanced Handset Beeping When Charging

Hi.  I have recently acquired some BT Advanced Handsets (model 090640).  All three of the handsets have had new rechargeable batteries installed and have been charged up.  When I place any one of the handsets on the main cradle (the one with the answerphone buttons on it), the handset flashes an intermittent 'Charging' message on the screen of the handset accompanied by a low beep every few seconds.  As you can imagine, this is quite annoying.  This message displays even when the handset is fully charged.

The problem seems to be linked to the main cradle in some way because every handset does it when docked into the main cradle, but every handset works fine without beeping when plugged into either of the other two extra smaller cradles.

Does anyone know how I can turn off this rather annoying beeping of the handset when it is docked in the main cradle?  I have read the instruction manual and looked through the various settings, without success.

Hi @markhiggins44 welcome to the community and thanks for posting? Is the message alert feature switched on?

Page 38 on the user manual explains how you can turn that off.
