My only issue now is what to do about BT Cloud - just leave it until the next upgrade? or should i delete it?

If I were you I would leave the BT Cloud app off for now, after all that's you put in the position you found yourself in. I'm sure you'll find out on this forum when they fix the problem
You can always browse to it if you need access to your files, I think the address is btcloud.bt.com but Google will find it if I'm wrong
