For the last few days I am unable to access my companies website www.wisdomaudio.com
I have 3 hard wired computers and several Wi-Fi devices and none can reach the site...regardless of the web browser used. I know the site is operating as I can reach it using my phones 4G connection and all my colleagues have no issues connecting.
I have BT Web Protect switched off and no Parental controls active. Here is the strange thing, if I re-start my BT Home Hub I can access the website for around 10 minutes and then it is unavailable again.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks, Steve
Its probably being blocked by parental controls or BT Web Protect.
Restarting the home hub gives you a new IP address, and once this is re-associated with your account, the site is blocked again.
Are you a business user?
Parental controls and BT Web Protect are switched off or disabled. I double checked this again today.
I set the account up years ago when I was with another company...so it may be a business account. Is there a way to check this?
Thanks!
It could well be a BT Business account, but that would be clearly stated on your bill.
My Bill from BT does not mention business account anywhere. My package is called Fibre2 and Calls. If it is a Business vs Private account does that change the way to resolve this?
Thanks, Steve
You would not normally be running a company on a residential account, as that would be against the T&Cs, so its difficult to say.
There are no residential packages which include calls, so I do not know what you have.
See if any forum members have any suggestions as to your problem, perhaps its a DNS resolution issue?
What browser are you using? What message does it show in the address bar when you try to connect?
The site is showing as an HTTP site and some browsers and browser addons such as antivirus browser security addons do not allow connection to sites that are not HTTPS unless allowed by the user.
does the username in the hub end @btbroadband.com or btconnect.com
I have tried using Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome on my PC's and Safari on my Mac.
If I re-start the home hub I can view the site for around 10 mins.
