A few days ago the Chromecast that has been working successfully ever since we had BT installed just started disconnecting from the wifi. It would connect occasionally, but then lose connection as soon as the phone I was controlling it from was locked. Restarted the router, restarted the Chromecast and connection was still intermittent. Put it down to the Chromecast being 4 years old and went and bought a brand new one yesterday.
The new one is actually worse and I've only managed to successfully use it once in 24hours, the rest of the time it says its disconnected from wifi. I've read on forums online that it could be the Hub's smart set up feature, so I've turned that off and restarted again to no avail.
Other forums have suggested it could be a firmware update on the router, as I have pretty much ruled out it being a Chromecast issue, PLEASE can someone help? It's driving me mad as we use the cast for pretty much all our TV watching.
