Can anybody confirm or deny the wording on this page

"Got the BT Sport App?
Upgrade your app
I tried to do so but the £5 to add and continue button doesn't work. Following a chat with an online adviser who asked me to clear my cookies and cache and reset my password I was still unable to do so. I called 0800 800 150 and was told the app is only available in HD. On my NVidia Shiled TV Pro the app indicates my Android TV setup is able to display 4K HDR and against my account ir says "Upgrade to BT Sport Ultimate to experience select events in glorious 4K HDR.
So either I am incredibly stupid or all of this is complete and utter nonsense! Assuming neither of the above is there a product code or something else I need to get 4K HDR through the app?

Hi @Gashead welcome back to the community, I'm sorry to see you're having problems getting the BT Sport Ultimate add on. How do you currently pay for the BT Sport app? Is it part of a BT TV package if so can you confirm what package you're on?
Thanks
Neil
Hi Neil, good to hear from you again!
I'm currently on BT TV "Sport" with "BoxNation" and "HD and 4K" add-ons which appear to give me the necessary access to BT Sport in HD. Hope there is a path to the exciting world of the app in 4K and Dolby Atmos!
Hi @Gashead, thanks for posting back that information. I'm not sure why you can't order the 4K App but it may be linked to the 4K add on you already have.
Do you have a 4K BT TV box? If so the Spurs v WBA game is on channel 433 today, kick off 12:00, so would you be able to check you if you can watch on the BT TV box or get an upgrade message and let me know.
cheers
John
Hi John, yes I have been able to watch 4K via my BT TV box the last few months. However in my current configuration I am not using the box and wish to use the app via Android and Google TV and also would allow me to view 4K in my bedroom.
The reason for the reconfigure was using my Google Nest router with mains networking which clashes with the BT TV box also via mains to a BT Smart hub but would still like the 4K app option.
Hi @Gashead, thanks for confirming that for me. The App should match your TV subscription and you should be able to watch in 4K on compatible devices.
I'm not sure but think it could be your set up that it is not available on. Check out the 'How do I watch BT Sport Ultimate' section on the link you posted originally as it shows that it is not available on Android.
cheers
John
@Gashead Ultimate should be available on Nvidia Shield. If you log into the app on your shield you can check in the settings if it's capable of UHD HDR.
Hi Nigel, yes the Device Checker both on my Nvidia Shield and Google TV Chromecast show my setup is capable of 4K HDR and my connection speed. Against Account it says "Upgrade to BT Sport Ultimate" to experience select events in glorious 4K HDR" as per my original post. From the BT website it also says available in Android TV and Google TV, just can't upgrade.
Hi John. It shows as available here https://www.bt.com/sport/bt-sport-ultimate and within the app if I upgrade. Currently TV and receiver not showing HDR or Dolby Atmos on TOT WBA.
@Gashead if you can access BT Sport Ultimate on Channel 443 on Youview, you shouldn't need to upgrade your account. Are you logging in to the App using the same email address that's set with your regular BT account? This would be the one to log into MyBT etc..
