BT Sport app - unable to watch this content outside the UK

I am able to watch the live channels on the BT Sport app but when I try to watch other content such as catch up, replays, films/documentaries  etc I receive a VP error “Sorry, you’re not able to watch this content outside of the UK”

I am in Jersey, Channel Islands so the new Brexit rules should not apply?

Does anyone know how this can be fixed?

That sounds very odd @GlenD1 - could you please send me a DM with the BT ID you're logged into the app with, and I'll check what's going on.

The content in BT Sport comes from a number of different sources, and it appears that 2 of them are applying a more restrictive UK-only policy, whereas our live content applies the standard BT TV policy of "UK, Channel Islands, and Isle of Man".

I've raised this internally, to confirm whether our on-demand content can be updated to match our live.

I am now receiving this error message again. It was working for a while but I now can only watch live channels again and no catch up.

Can you please advise?

Our records show that you're attempting to route through a proxy server registered in Ireland @GlenD1
So the issue is actually that you shouldn't even be allowed to watch live TV now.

Edit: I can see a large number of attempts from multiple different IPs. I do eventually see a request from an IP in Jersey that should have succeeded, but was rejected. I've raised a ticket for this to be fixed or explained.

Jersey issue fixed again - turns out our fix from last time had been reset. We're working on a process to make that fix permanent, but in the meantime we'll be very careful not to break it again.
Still can't explain the requests that looked like they were coming from an Irish proxy though - I can only assume they were from a VPN?
