BT Sports App Casting VC550

I've just joined BT Mobile and the package included BT Sports.  I was told the app would cast on Google Chromecast.

I've tried all my 4 Chromecast devices but I get the VC550 casting error stating its not enabled.

I choose Standard for casting,  click the icon, screen appears with BT logo on TV, but the app errors.

I've been using Chrome cast for years...never had any issues.

Using Samsung S20 plus, Netgear WiFi router. All devices on same network

Please help

Regards

Re: BT Sports App Casting VC550

from other posts if you have the free BT Sport app that comes with mobile then casting is not included hence your error

Re: BT Sports App Casting VC550

The sales advisor confirmed I would be able to cast.   Surely that's a miss sell.

I'm very disappointed if this is the case

If your BT Sports is free because you have a qualifying BT Mobile plan, casting is not supported, all other packages do support casting, basically if you pay it can cast, if it's free you can't.
BT Mobile sim only plans have a 30 day cooling off period, if casting BT Sports was a deciding factor then you can exercise your right to cancel during the cooling off period, you'll be refunded in full automatically for any charges during the cooling off period.

Re: BT Sports App Casting VC550

Just to be totally clear on this one:
If you have BT Sport free with an EE subscription, then you can buy add-ons to support other devices and higher quality.
If your subscription is free with BT Mobile or BT Business then there are no add-ons available - your subscription only entitles you to watch on mobile/tablet devices, and to watch on your TV you'll need to pay for a full subscription separately.
All the available options are listed on www.bt.com/sport/buy
