Thought it might br an idea to have a thread with comments and questions for those using the new box - or looking to get it.
One thing I'm finding is this - anyone else?
For HDMI audio they are two options as before: Stereo or Surround.
Selecting 'Stereo' is forcing all output to be PCM 2.0.
Selecting 'Surround' is focing all output to be on DD+ format.
On the original UHD box - selecting 'Surround' would follow the format of the broadcast.
So the SD channels are now showing as DD+ - but they are in fact PCM source.
I just tried the same on my Box Pro and found the same that output is always Dolby 5.1
I find it annoying not to have the 'close' button anymore. Several times we've been in an app and wanted to return to live TV which now seems to take a lot more button presses.
Yes this is something I complained about. Seems if you select surround the box is pushing out DD+ 5.1 at all times, where the old box would push the format being broadcast. I much prefer that as my dedicated amp can make a much better job of creating a pseudo surround signal if the base signal isn’t surround.
The most annoying thing so far is unable to get the remote to pair with my TV.
Other than it’s a nice fast box. I do find pressing buttons frantically to go back to where I started.
The HDR promo loop on channel 465 looks good and seems to be running at around 28Mb/s. Unfortunatly there is very little true 4K programming on channel 433 for the next few weeks and nothing in HDR.
BBC iPlayer, Netflix and Amazon Prime apps all do HDR.
Can anyone upgrade to this box? If so how/where?

Switch to the ViP package which will start a 24 month contract - but you can downgrade after a month.

So what is the answer to the 4 tuners, is this box able to record 4 shows at once?
For example can it record 2 freeview channels and 2 internet channels?
So it seems that DTT records and BTtv recordings are dealt with as two different options.
You can have up to four DTT recordings active and also up to two BTtv recordings active simultaneously. And you can watch another channel from either source at the same time.
So a total of 6 recordings and watch a 7th.
If you try and record a 3rd BTtv recording then you get a list of the two current BTtv recordings and have to select one to cancel.
If you try and record a 5th DTT recording then you get a list of the four current DTT recordings and have to select one to cancel.

I'm really enjoying the new box. So far so good. Really like the new remote control and the extra recording capabilities too.
