Darren..
Further to my own post about the Surround Sound implementation on the new BT TV Pro box, here is another person asking about this on the Sony community site.

That was me who posted on Sony I have also posted on this forum earlier on and as you say this box is awful and a backward step. I have even had 2 engineers to the house who really did not have a clue on what to do as they have had very little training on the new box, one even advised to replace it with the old one. I tried but BT were reluctant to do this. I feel trapped now in a 24 month contract. I like to watch sport and they advertise BT ultimate with a "immersive sound experience" which I do not get as if I have it in surround then the sub goes to sleep and the sound is flat. I find there advertising misleading and I have asked the question on here before "what systems did they test this box on?" but as you can guess no reply. As you say you can never get past the "techs" on the phone who have limited knowledge and basically seem to work of cue cards. Disappointed isn't a strong enough word to explain how I feel.
This is a new box and as more people post messages like ours pressure will build for them to release a firmware update.
I’m going to call sales, explain the situation and threaten to cancel the new contract, return the box and get a refund if they don’t reassure me the issue is known and being addressed.
Sales will escalate and maybe I’ll get a response.
I’ll let you know.
If it'll help, I'll add "my voice" to this issue - have returned to BT TV after an absence of 6 years and found the sound on the Pro Box very odd - after investigating, can confirm what others have said.
Did think about re-using my "old" BT TV box, but the interface is now so slow, I've stuck with the Pro Box.
Seems a very odd issue and am honestly amazed it wasn't flagged up by those testing the box.
I think it was already mentioned earlier in this (long) thread that it was raised in testing.

@SRB It was as I stated earlier but there were so many other more important issues it was bottom of the pile and got buried.
edit-beaten to the answer lol but you get my drift.
Hi All,
Just received my new BT TV Pro Box and trying to set it up with my Sony XH92 TV.
There is an option on my TV to setup a TV BOX but when i get to the manufacturer bit and choose SAGEMCOM the model RTIW387 doesn't exist.
I can pretend it's a BT YOUVIEW box and can then use my Sony TV remote to control the BT TV Pro guide, change channels and adjust volume etc but I can't seem to get it to wake up and turn on the TV and like wise switch off the TV and Pro box.
Anybody else got the same TV and can help? If so much appreciated.
Hi I'm currently waiting on delivery of a TV Box Pro and I wanted to ask if anyone got their pro box linked to a Logitech Harmony Hub/Elite?
I've taken a look and can't see the device listed, nor it's manufacturer model (sagemcom RTIW387). Not sure if the remote is also IR capable so I can set the Harmony Hub to learn commands if not?
Many thanks for your help
The Pro box will accept all the same commands via IR as all other YouView boxes, so you can search for any of the previous models and use that.
