Everything from the pro box shows as 5.1 on Sonos. That’s the issue that has been there since day 1 with this box. It’s the only TV box/accessory that makes Sonos behave like this. It’s such a shame as in most other areas the pro box is great. The previous youview box from BT didn’t have this issue either.
@ozsat Hi Ozsat, can you put a link to the speedtest you are using, and I'll check.
I use http://192.168.1.254/home.htm which is BT Home Hib status checker.
Pro box only outputs at 2.0 or 5.1 - you choose which one from the menus.
A real 2.0 transmission will still go out at 5.1 but only with L and R active - I think there is still another issue with BT Sport channels.
My Yamaha amp always says 5.1 from BT box for all channels.
BT confirmed this was the case a long time ago.

I do the speed tests here - https://support.bt.com/fix/broadband/?view=broadbandspeed#/choose_an_account
The issue is intermittant but you should always see the speeddrop which the BT box is streaming.
The issue I have is that it seems to start streaming again later but still in standby and not recording.

@nickking24 Hi there. The BT Pro Box, in most parts is good. But the 5.1 sound issue is terrible, it has been acknowledged by BT, but they do not seem interested in fixing. They still advertise it as being Dobly /5.1 capable, which it is, but it doesn't automatically switch according to content, which all my previous boxes (and Apple TV do). Very poor on BT's side.
Thank you, yes this is the issue. Sonos upscale 2.0 to use all channels which is such a great feature of the set up however it can’t do it when the pro box emits 2.0 as 5.1 and only uses the front 2 speakers which is poor sound. I know I could switch between 2.0 and 5.1 manually but this is a hassle to continually do this when it wasn’t needed before. I now leave it in 2.0 all the time so it upscales it but means I miss out on the 5.1. Hopefully BT could fix this in the future. Seems strange that they can’t have a auto switch when every other device allows this. Thank you for answering the question.
Agree 100% So frustrating!
Odd - it works here although Ookla shows same results. It is just Ookla results not accepted by BT if raising a fault.

I've tried that site before, and it always kicks me out with my std BT login.
