BT Web protect

I got an email saying BT Web protect had been switched on.

They say "We recommend keeping it on, but if you'd prefer to switch it off, log in to your account" - where you will have the greatest difficulty navigating to anything related to it.

When you get to the 'learn about bt web protect' page (which appears to be the only related page) there is a button to activate it.

So is it on or not?

Re: BT Web protect

Log in to MyBT and click "Your security" at the top. You should be able to control Web Protect from there.

Re: BT Web protect

Sounds odd to me, are you sure it was a genuine BT email? If not, you didn't click on any links in the email and enter your account details did you

Re: BT Web protect

It was. And I've randomly found the settings page in MyBT. After having to log in at nearly every page, including this forum which has taken me about 5 mins to get back into as the page remembers the wrong login (it's different for me for MyBT and the forums) and will not be defeated.

Re: BT Web protect

I also use different credentials but Chrome remembers them for me. Perhaps your security settings are too strict?

Re: BT Web protect

BT are in the process of activating BT Web Protect on all BT Broadband accounts regardless of if you have never activated it on your account. You need to now turn it off rather than previously you had to turn it on if you wanted it.
