BT Whiifi extender 1200

Hi, i appear to have linked my extender 1200 to my router fine, and have moved it so that it is showing good range. However none of my devices can connect to it. It is showing up as an available wifi option, however when attempting to connect, any device seems to stall with 'obtaining ip address. Any idea what I have done wrong please?
