I have a BT email account and I have given an email address to a friend. However, we now want to change the "Sender Name" of the friend and I cannot find how to do this. By "Sender Name" I mean the personal name which recipients get when sent an email.
When my friend logs into MyBT they appear as "Service User" and there appears to be no way to access the email account name.

It depends how they are sending mail.
I assume they are using webmail, in which case, click on the username in the top right corner and select Settings. In Settings > Profile just edit the profile to the name you wish to use and click Save. You may need to log out and then log back in again for the change to take effect.
If they are using an app or mail client, it will be in the settings of the app.

Your reply gave me a clue to what had been happenning. I had been using a gmail account to send mail to multiple recipients and the gmail contact name for my friend was incorrect. So the incorrect name had propogated through several of our network of friends.
I have now corrected the gmail contact details.
