A friend has the above system which they've had for years. During decorating they pulled the plug from the power socket and plugged it into an extension lead then when work around socket was finished they uplugged and re-instated into original socket.
The phone will now not make outgoing calls or accept incoming calls. Have done all handset and base station resets mentioned in manual but won't resolve problem.
Has anyone any thoughts on how to rectify please.

Re: BT2500 CORDLESS PHONE ISSUES
There is a dial tone. I can put the numbers in and it tries dialling but then says number unobtainable. Have tried resetting handset and basestation and corrected time and date but nothing corrects the problem. It was working fine at the weekend as last calls made and received were Sunday evening.

They need to try a different phone in the test socket, to see if its the phone which is at fault. If that does not work, then they need to report the fault to BT, as it could be a fault in the exchange.
Also try dialling 17070, and make sure that the number that is announced, matches their phone number, just in case there is a crossed line.
