BT8500 - Base unit US, Can I use handsets on a new BT Base unit

Go to solution

I have a BT8500 phone system with base unit/handset and 4 remote hand sets. The base unit has packed up (doesn't ring properly) so I need to replace it. I'd like to just replace the base unit/handset and re-use my other existing 4 handsets.

  1. Is this possible, and if so, what models are compatible?
  2. Will I be able to keep my contacts by transferring them from one of the handsets, and if so, how?
  3. Replacement base needs to have Call Guardian

Hi @liteman, welcome to the forum and thanks for your post.

For this query, it would be best to contact the BT8500 Product Helpdesk as they'll be best placed to answer this for you. You'll find the phone number and email link in the hyperlink above.

cheers

John

Many thanks for reply. However, decided in the end to opt for a new BT Premium Phone with 3 handsets and have re-used 2 of my other old 8500 handsets, giving me a total of 5 altogether - just cos I'm lazy and can't be bothered to walk between rooms to answer the phone. It also syncs with my mobile, so added bonus.
