So I'm on the Fibre 1 deal, which when I signed up to said should get me 46-50mbps if I remember, and a stay fast guarantee of 41mb.
I've had a few issues with it dropping in and out, but that seems to have levelled out. However, my speed hadn't been enough to access any 4K channels on my TV, so just out of interest I went to see what deals I could get on faster speeds. On my BT page, every single one of 'My Deals', including Fibre 2, Halo etc, has a speed of 20-23mb, and a stay fast guarantee of 19mb. I have just ran BT's speed check test, and 22.1mb is what I am now getting. I hadn't noticed any significant drop in performance, but I don't use the internet excessively.
Why would this suddenly have happened? And why would I not even get the option to increase my speed further if I upgraded to Fibre 2?
please can you post the stats from your router (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser) and if HH5 then go to troubleshooting then helpdesk and if HH6/SH2 then advanced settings then technical log information .
Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal
enter your phone number and post results remember to delete number https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL
Someone may then be able to offer help/assistance/suggestions to your problem
which master socket do you have
It's the far right image
ok so can you remove the front plate - it just unclips - then connect a filter to test socket and the hub to the filter and then repost your stats as before and see if any improvement
Unclip the front faceplate and connect to the test socket with a filter, then repost ststs. Also check for noise on your line. 17070 option 2, best with corded phone. The line should be silent between announcements, may get a dull background hum with cordless.
These are the results from the test socket:
just the same/similar
can you post results from dslchecker link I posted earlier
Oh sorry, was that the link to this?
