Blink Camera with Smart Hub 2

Hi,

I am trying to add a Blink Outdoor camera to my existing blink system. My existing system has two cameras that work perfectly. However, I am unable to add the third camera as the Blink system cannot find the camera. I have spoken to blink who sent me a replacement camera but i have the same issue with the new camera so it is not a hardware issue.

I am convinced the issue is with the Smart Hub 2 router as I also had issues with wifi bulbs earlier this year. I have only got the new router this year. I have read multiple threads on this forum which report similar issues with other devices connecting to the SH2. I have tried all the suggestions: changed SSID, turned off 5GHZ, changed Wifi channels, removed security.

The strange bit is that the current cameras work with no issues but they were paired with each other on a previous router so i think it is just connecting a new camera that seems to be the issue on the SH2.

The only solution i can think off is to try and buy an old router or switch to SKY.

Any suggestions?

@jackn25

Welcome to this user forum.

Try a factory reset of the home hub.

Then turn off smart setup.

Provided you are not on an ultrafast connection, you can also use a third party router. Prices start at about £35.

You could try a different wireless mode.

Try mode 2 or 3.

You could try a popular third party router instead, provided you are not on an ultrafast copper connection.(G.Fast), or are not using the black add on disc.

In my experience, this has no problems connecting to any device.
