A few weeks ago our broadband speed dropped significantly, and I did some tests at different times of day with just one short ethernet cable directly in the HomeHub 6 and it shows around 10-12 Mbps and is not enough when all the family have classes at the same time. The BT Broadband speedtest shows around 18-20Mbps. Apart from going up the pole to check that my wire entering the terminal block is not rusted through like it was a few years ago, what is my best course of action?

in order for the forum members to help please can you post the stats from your router (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser) and if HH5 then go to troubleshooting then helpdesk and if HH6/SH2 then advanced settings then technical log information .
Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal

I followed some advice and 2 days ago checked wiring for interference, moved AC wires away from the hub to BT socket wires, checked the connection in the BT faceplate socket, switched off the powerline adaptors, restarted the hub and the Line Attenuation has dropped from 40 to 15 dB but Noise Margin has gone up from 9/6 to 20/18, and data rate has gone down from 25 to 22.4 below. Until recently I was getting around 60Mbps. Any suggestions?
