Broadband speed

My broadband speed is absolutely appalling - just upgraded to fibre Halo 1 and the highest speed I’ve managed to get is 8 mbps. This cannot be normal - surely something can be done?

Re: Broadband speed

@Ali-2020

To see what speeds are available to you, please enter your phone number into this form, and display the results here, omitting your phone number.

Is there any noise on your phone calls? Dial 17070 and select option 2, there should be no noise between the announcements.

Re: Broadband speed

halo is just an add-on benefit and does not increase or decrease connection speed

Re: Broadband speed

Probably one wire disconnected on incoming line, or home hub plugged into the wrong place and is being filtered.

Re: Broadband speed

@Keith_Beddoe Thanks. The phone and the hub attach to the same phone socket via a white box connector with DSL472 on it. Could that be the problem?

Re: Broadband speed

What does your master phone socket look like? If its 5 6 or 7, then you must not use a filter. The home hub must plug directly into the broadband socket, and the phone into the phone socket.
