I have enabled subtitles on the YouView settings screen, but I generally only want to use it when I am watching BBC News. Because my YouView box is now giving me BBC News channel directly, but only through the BBC iPlayer app, I looked there. It explains that subtitles are enabled using the 'S' option through video playback, but I am afraid I don't know what this means.
Any ideas about how to enable subtitles on BBC News while watching through the BBC iPlayer app on YouView, please?
Solved! Go to Solution.
@SimonG62 when watching the live BBC News channel on the BT TV Iplayer press the up button (above the OK button on remote) twice (which highlights the Subtitles and Settings symbol) in top left hand corner ) then press OK and then select Subtitles - you also have options select subtitles and indeed the size of the subtitles.
(that is based on the current iPlayer on the BT Tv Box Pro - it is possible that other iPlayer versions may have different approaches to subtitles)
the official BBC help article is atr
