I have BT Fibre 2 which has performed brilliantly for ages now. However it has recently slowed from a decent 50-60 Mbps to appearing to be capped at 20 Mbps, Ethernet speed tests produce a regular 18-19 Mbps. A quiet line test seemed to be ok.
Is there anything I can do without a BT intervention?
in order for the forum members to help please can you post the stats from your router (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser) and if HH5 then go to troubleshooting then helpdesk and if HH6/SH2 then advanced settings then technical log information .
enter your phone number and post results remember to delete number https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL
Someone may then be able to offer help/assistance/suggestions to your problem
Hope this is what you mean ......
You've cut off the important information in the screenshot of the hub, the data rate, max data rate and noise margin. Does your phone have dial tone?
said in initial post quiet line test ok
which master do you have
Sorry about that ....
Data Rate 19.99 Mbps/20.00 Mbps
Max data Rate : 20614/72749
Noise Margin : 6.2dB/22.5 dB
I have a dial tone
Socket is Openreach 5C -- no. 2 on your diagram
that speed is terrible have you tried taking bottom faceplate off then connecting filter to test socket and then hub to filter and post new stats
have you been having problems with hub dropping connection? often?
Here you go ..... now running off test socket
Also I have not been having drop outs
I'm afraid you are going to have to bite the bullet and report the fault to Customer Services 0800 800150 Its possibly a faulty/misconfigured port in the cabinet.
