DLM Reset

Is possible to request a DLM reset with BT?

I'm 4km from the exchange, and I have two ADSL lines, one with BT and the other with TalkTalk. Previously both lines used to achieve 2.5Mb download, up until a few months ago when there was a thunder storm. This made both lines slow right down to less than 500kb.

I was able to get Talktalk to do a DLM reset which brought the line back up to 2.5Mb and it's been fine ever since.

However, with BT I've tried speaking to various call centres and logged a fault, but there doesn't seem to be anything that they can do to restore the previously available 2.5Mb. The line is stuck at 512kb download, which is just above the minimum speed guarantee, so they don't consider it to be a fault. As advised I've waited a couple of months for the line to stabilise, but there's been no improvement.

Is there some way of getting BT to do the "DLM reset" that seemed to work so well on my TalkTalk line? Or do I need to change my other line from BT to TalkTalk to make this happen?

in order for the forum members to help please can you post the stats from your router (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser) and if  HH5 then go to troubleshooting then helpdesk and if HH6/SH2 then advanced settings then technical log information . 

Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal

The router is a Billion BiPAC 7800DXL. It used to achieve 2.5Mb until the thunder storm on the 11th July. I've also tried an alternative BiPAC 7800DXL, but there's no difference.

dslchecker results to see what your expected range is?

stats don't show internet connection time

from your stats your connection speed is only 384kbps with an attainable of only 420kbps so looks like a bad connection somewhere.  any banding/restrictions would only normally apply to connection speed not attainable
