Hi, i have been with BT for a good few years and have renewed my contract in the last few weeks.
My problem?
As soon as i was moved to my new contract my broadband speed dropped from 79Mbit to 68Mbit which is what i was quoted my speed would be whilst renewing. I never took much notice of it as i've had 78-79Mbit for the past year or so.
I know people are told to wait for the DLM to do its job but in my case the only difference is i've renewed my contract and plugged in the new Smart2 router BT sent me.
I'm a bit baffled tbh, a few years back when i renewed this exact same thing happened but it turned out i actually had a fault on the line (module) which an engineer fixed, he reset my DLM and i was back on 78-79Mbit.....Happy days, until i've renewed my contract, again. My line is capable of 80Mbit so i took a screenshot before i even rang to renew as i've been down this road before.
I'm willing to listen to replies regarding faults on my line etc but according to the BT tests etc i have none which leads me to believe that my line has been capped @ the 68-69Mbit region.
How can i get the DLM reset as i don't have a fault but have always had 78-79Mbit, i've tried ringing BT but tend to be stuck in a waiting list for god knows how long to get through to someone who doesn't know what to say beyond the script they go off.
My line capablility
Speed taken beginning of June 2020 before i renewed my contract using Homehub5
Speed after renewing my contract Smarthub 2
Before anyone asks yes the speed is now the same on the Hub5 as it is on the smarthub 2
Please help.

A DLM reset will make no difference to your speeds. At present there is no evidence DLM has taken action on your line.
So what would/could my problem be? how can i go from 79 to 68Mbit within a few days?
