Ethernet Cable putting me on different network

So we recently got a new BT router and I use a direct ethernet to connect to the router, however, it isn't putting me onto our BT network, it is putting me onto our Sky Network despite being directly connected to the BT router? It does the same thing to my brother who is also directly plugged into the BT.

I've tried resetting the router, factory resetting the router, resetting my PC and ethernet Card but nothing seems to work.

Any help is appreciated!

Has your internet connection actually been changed from Sky to BT?

Re: Ethernet Cable putting me on different network

Do you use powerline adapters?

Re: Ethernet Cable putting me on different network

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this one from personal experience.

Make sure your machine is connected to the hub

Go into settings, in the search bar - type Network Reset and press enter

Answer Yes when prompted

Your machine will tell you that it's going to reboot in 5 minutes but there's no need to wait, just restart it yourself

That should be all you need to do

That's exactly what happened to me

@Anonymous  An easier way would be open a command prompt then type "ipconfig /release " then ipconfig renew"

(no quotes) no machine restart required.

@pippincp

For whatever reason, that didn't work for me, on top of that some people baulk as soon as you tell them to open a command window and mention DOS. That's why I suggested the reset

Re: Ethernet Cable putting me on different network

No I don't, I'm connected via 20m ethernet cable straight from my PC into the router
