Re: Ethernet Cable putting me on different network

Seems to also be causing issues with my xbox one! It seems that any Ethernet connection to the BT hub just puts me onto a sky network, meaning I am unable to play online or download any games because the connection is awful

What do you get on your phone if you dial 150, as you may have a crossed line?

Re: Ethernet Cable putting me on different network

If you're plugged into a BT hub connected to a BT network, and there's no other network connections from your devices (for example wifi to the sky router), then you are connected to BT.

If not, one of these:

You're connected to sky via wifi "ipconfig /all" in a command prompt will help show that.

You're not connected to what you think you are - check the cables.

You're not on the Sky network - "tracert www.bbc.co.uk" in a command prompt will prove that.

You're using powerline connectors and connecting to the wrong endpoint, maybe even a neighbour

Your BT hub is connected to Sky broadband.

A BT hub can't authenticate on SKY broadband.

Re: Ethernet Cable putting me on different network

@ch Not at all likely.

More like the Sky network name has been remembered by the O.S.

All that's required is a simple painless network reset but the OP seems resistant for some reason.
