FTTP

Hi

I currently have FTTC @ 2.6Mbs (3/3.5km for cabinet), I have had several openreach engineer's out to the property who say the speed is the maximum I will get on FTTC because of distance. I should have been offered ADSL as it would have been faster given the line length..

However what they also say is that my pole has a FTTP node on it. However as my house doesn't appear on their route info it shows that I can't get this. It is also the reason they suggest they put me on FTTC rather than ADSL as it doesn't show the cable route to show the length/distance from cabinet.

I'm looking for FTTP if possible, the openreach engineer today was helpful who called up but could only leave notes on the account and doesn't know how to get this escalated to resolve...

Any ideas?

The premise/line is associated with exchange which is NOT part of current fibre priority programme.

The premise/line is associated with exchange where WLR is not withdrawn.

The premise/line is associated with exchange where SOADSL service is restricted.

FTTP is not available.

For all ADSL and WBC Fibre to the Cabinet (VDSL or G.fast) services, the stable line rate will be determined during the first 10 days of service usage.

Actual speeds experienced by end users and quoted by CPs will be lower due to a number of factors within and external to BT's network, Communication Providers' networks and within customer premises.

The Stop Sale date for IPstream is from 26 Sep 2018.

If you decide to place an order for a WBC fibre product, an appointment may be required for an engineer to visit the end user's premises to supply the service

In order to be eligible for handback, downstream speed should be less than Downstream Handback Threshold values.

Re: FTTP

Do you have any immediate neighbours ( served from the same pole ) that can order FTTP ( which would suggest an error with your address in OR records ) , if neighbours served from the same pole also cannot order FTTP , or you don’t actually have any close neighbours, then perhaps , if it’s a ‘node’ on the pole near you rather than a CBT , then it could be that although there is a ‘fibre feed’ running past your property , there isn’t a breakout point to connect one isolated property, in other words, the fibres are feeding splitters further along the route and of no use to you.
