Fibre - WAN cable length

Go to solution

1638481055425.jpg

Is it ok to run a (roughly) 6m WAN cable from the white fibre box, to the wifi router?

Do i need a specific cable?

The router will be more central in the house, in this location, and i can also plug my TV and xbox in from there...

Thanks!

You can run Ethernet cable Cat 5E or above up to 100 meters and it will work.

Cat 5e is good for 1 Gbps up to 100 metres. So you won’t get speed loss over 6 metres, even if you’re on the Fibre 900 package.
