Fibre to premises relocating the fibre optic

Hi there,

We are having some work done and are looking to move the location of where the fibre optic line comes into the premises. Is this something that can be done or does the line need to be replaced if so what sort of costs are we talking about?

Any advice would be greatfully appreciated

Re: Fibre to premises relocating the fibre optic

Is it Overhead or Underground?

If it’s Overhead it might just need the Drop Wire shifting and and a new Lead In running to the new ONT location.

If it’s Underground that could be more tricky as it may need Civils work to relocate the Ducting.

It's underground. I would imagine this would cost more?

It would be classed as a Network Rearrangement so would possibly cost more.

You might be able to save costs if you or your builder do some of the work as long as it’s on your land, anything on public land would need to be done officially with Permits, etc. It’s something a Survey Officer would be able to confirm with you.

You can arrange it with Openreach using the link below on their web site.
