Have FTTP 300, But Router drops then connects at 100mbps

Go to solution

Hi

I had the fibre to the premises 300 package installed around 2 weeks ago and im a new BT customer coming from sky and a few times The router has dropped connection, When it comes back up the WAN LINK speed only reconnects at 100mbps, I have had to restart the router a few times to get it to resync back at 1000mbps but tonight it will not resync at that speed so im only getting 97mbps which is way below the guaranteed 150mbps.

Is this a profile thing on the new installed FTTP line? does DLM run on FTTP lines?

It has stayed connected at most for around 4 days at 1000mbps and i was getting a steady 250mbps download, But tonight its kind of gone to hell.

Any help would be appreciated.

Never mind guys, I just figured it out. Turns out the 10m ethernet cable i was using to connect the Smart Hub 2 to the ONT is rubbish, It was a old cheap one i bought years ago from eBay stating it is a 5E cable, I plugged in the ethernet cable i got with the router and its connecting at 1000mbps. So i just ordered a amazon basics Cat6 cable.
