@licquorice thank you for correcting what the guy on the helpline said. I was a bit sceptical myself, but maybe I misunderstood him. He just kept mentioning a "digtally ready" router.

I understand your comment regarding a mobile phone. Actually, mine is switched off 99% of the time and used only when absolutely necessary, which is why I prefer landline corded phones. 

I appreciate you being willing to give your time to answer my queries and I know that electro-sensitivity is rather controversial. I probably would be sceptical if I hadn't experienced it!

thank you for your replies and taking the time to post whether you feel sceptical about electro-sensitivity or not.

As I said above, I'd be sceptical myself if it hadn't been for my (quite extreme) experiences. I can't live in a faraday cage but I do need to keep my home free from microwave radiation which is possible due to living in a rural area.
