I have fixed the link

You should be able to provide all of that information, but its going to take a bit of time.

Which bits are you unsure about?

I hope this thread is of interest to other forum members, who are thinking of setting up a webcam.

Re: IP camera

I'm assuming that the camera URL is: 192.168.1.123

The port number we know is 554. However, I don't know where 8899 comes into the equation.

As for the RTSP, I sent them the link that you could see displayed at the bottom of the camera and they said that looked okay. I've just sent them another email confirming that I have opened up the ports for 55

I'm hoping that the problem was because I didn't have the port 554 forwarded properly. If they still can't connect that I really don't know where we go from here.

No its not, that is your local LAN address

The camera url would be your No-IP hostname which I will not repeat here as the forum will only edit it 😀

Port is correct

That login string should be fine. I assume you mean up to 55 users?

Yes, it was the missing port forward, as I said at the start.

I have been working on networks since the early 1980s, before the Internet was invented. Worked for nearly 42 years, but now retired.

Re: IP camera

Keith, I've been having issues with my CCTV. I use a program called iVMS 4200 which I have installed on a couple of PCs. It enables me to look at my cameras, which are all Hikvision. This morning I decided to set the HiLook, NVR back to factory defaults. After watching some YouTube videos I assumed that I was just entering my new password, attach an IP camera and everything will start working. However, that doesn't appear to be the case. I took a photo of the camera settings. Does it mean anything to you?CCTV2-min.jpgCCTV-min.jpg

Re: IP camera

Sorry, I probably shouldn't have change the subject. Maybe I should start a different thread.

Anyway, cam secure have got all the information they need now so there really isn't any reason why they can't get my camera online properly

Re: IP camera

IP subnet is wrong.

It should be 192.168.1.xx

not

192.168.254.xx

No you can use the same thread.

I use an RSS feed of this forum, so I can retain stuff for future use.

Re: IP camera

What I can't understand, Keith is why I couldn't just start from scratch after doing a factory default reset.

Are you familiar with the SADP.

Are you familiar with the SATP.

You would if you had the correct IP subnet. It has to be the same as your own home hub IP range.

No idea what SATP is,
