An engineer has called today to set up the new ultrafast service via BT. I am new customer, having switched over from PlusNet today.
Unfortunately my BT hub is not due to arrive until tomorrow due Royal Mail losing the package on Friday.
The engineer has kindly provided me a temporary modem out of his van and has set it up so that my PlusNet router will work alongside the modem. He tested it and I was told that it was capable of being used.
However, when searching for the wi-fi and clicking on the old PlusNet signal, I am unable to access the service.
Could anybody help?
did engineer fit something like this
or are you connecting to phone socket for FTTC/G.FAST
Yes, this is what we have been provided with. It's a ZT Link G/Fast Modem MT992
Thanks very much
so G.FAST are you connecting modem to WAN port on router? have you tried ethernet?
did you change username in router to bthomehub@btbroadband.com password BT
The modem is connected to the WAN port on the router.
I haven't changed the username in the router - how do I do this?
Thanks for your help so far...
I have managed to replace the router's username to 'bthomehub@btbroadband.com' and the password to 'BT'
Is this all that I need to do?
VLAN ID 101 if needed though you shouldn't.
BTW this is the modem you have.
Yes, this the modem that I have.
I am still struggling to get online - please help
What are the conditions of the lights on the modem?
Do you have a laptop/PC to set up a direct wired connection?
The modem has the blue light on which means it should be working
Yes, I have a laptop.
If I connect an ethernet cable into the router and the back of the laptop, how do I get a connection?
