I want to replace my Home Hub (I think it’s 6) and I’m interested in the TP-Link AX6000, do I need to buy a separate modem for this router, will it be compatible?
Thanks
It is just a router, you will need a modem.
Any suggestions as to which router i will need? Sorry I.T is not my forte.
thanks

So why do you want to replace your hub?
I assumed you have FTTC broadband and not FTTP. If you have FTTP the router you asked about would do.
If you have FTTC you need to look for a VDSL Modem/router. They start in price from about £40 upwards to few hundred pounds.
Without knowing your needs it is impossible to suggest what would suit you best. You should do an Internet search and read the various reviews and make your choice. If you want forum users advice once you have done that I'm sure they will help you.
Thank you for replying.
my Home hub keeps lagging, my son is always complaining. I don’t understand because I’ve got his Playsation and Xbox connected via Ethernet cables!
I doubt a different router will make any difference.
I’m willing to give it a try, some people are raving about changing from the home hub. Thanks
As @gg30340 says, only you can decide your requirements.
Unless you have G.Fast, any VDSL modem/router will suffice or you could buy a separate Huawei HG612 modem to use with the AX6000. Don't be disappointed if it doesn't fix the lag problems.
What do you think could be the cause of these? It just happens to my son when he’s gaming, everything else is fine, I have sky tv and numerous other devices connected. Thanks
