I have a BT home hub i connect to WAN via BT master socket, had disconnects now for 6 months and they can't fix the fault. Could i buy a NETGEAR Nighthawk X6 R8000 WiFi Cable & Fibre Router - AC 3200, Tri-band replace my BT hub, had new ones of BT hub so now want to try something else see if hubs are the issue.?
Can you clarify what type of service you have, you can't connect a WAN port to a master socket. Either you connect the DSL port to a master socket or the WAN port to the LAN port on an Openreach ONT (optical modem). If you connect the DSL port of your hub to the master socket the Netgear won't work without a separate modem.
I have a bt master socket that my current router connects to. What adsl type router could I try to see if another router fixes my internet drops? Could i get say a VR900
Can collect a TP-LINK Archer VR2100 today so will give that a try hopefully that is ok?
This one?

That should work.
Bear in mind that none of those will work if you have an ultrafast (G.fast) connection.
Yes that one.
I am on a 70Mbps connection I am close enough to cab for Gfast but it is not on the cab as yet.

That should be fine,
You will need to enter the PPPoE login details to get an Internet connection to BT.
