Need a DLM reset on banded connection

I recently discovered a fault with a 3rd party router cable that had a slightly faulty plug which was too short and didn't hold firmly in the master BT socket, it caused my router to disconnect when the cable was touched or moved. I am now stuck permanently on a 9dB connection which I believe is way above the default BT 3dB profile. I have done a noise test on the line and its quiet as a mouse.

I have asked customer services to reset the DLM but get the ubiquitous "you're within contracted speeds" answer.

Can an admin request a DLM reset please.

Connection is a FTTC superfast line.
