Re: Netflix now part of BT packages

Hi @MarkLeics thanks for sending over the screenshots showing that is not an option for you. @DavidM is raising this with specialists and he will get back to you when he has an update.

Thanks

Neil

Re: Netflix now part of BT packages

@MarkLeics Is this something you definitely want to do?

This locks you into the new packages for extra cost just to get netflix in SD (480p).

I personally think this is a pretty poor deal and I'm certainly not likely to switch to a new TV package if the only extra is netflix but with no going back.

Title for this thread conversation really should have been "BT TV Packages now cost more but include the questionable addition of Emily in Paris"

As it currently stands, I can add netflix for 30 days, binge and then cancel. It will work out far cheaper for me to do this if there is ever anything I want to watch on netflix.

What is slightly concerning me is that some content is gradually being removed from BT TV and becoming available on other subscription services such as Discovery Plus. There's quite a few ads on National Geographic at the moment for Disney+ which shows it includes NG, I'm wondering how long NG will remain available or if it will also disappear like the Discovery Channels did and like British Eurosport will be doing shortly.

Re: Netflix now part of BT packages

@pagenotfound  We have Netflix now and overall even with the HD upgrade this works out cheaper. I should at least have the option if I’m told I have.

Re: Netflix now part of BT packages

Have you tried using a different browser?  I find that the BT web site does not always play nicely with my usual Firefox.

Hi @MarkLeics ,

Thanks for your patience with this. I've asked our specialists to give you a call to discuss this and get it sorted for you. We're looking into the reason why you can't manage this online as a priority.

Cheers

Re: Netflix now part of BT packages

@MarkLeics glad this finally got resolved for you and that it will work out saving you money. It doesn't add up for me so I'm good sticking with the old big entertainment package.

Re: Netflix now part of BT packages

Question, is the VIP package just for TV? broadband isn't included? If so £73 seems very expensive.

Re: Netflix now part of BT packages

@davidwindle9 Correct, broadband is on top of that. VIP includes all the sports channels, movie channels and entertainment channels and now netflix.

Re: Netflix now part of BT packages

Just an add on to this thread. If you take an entertainment pass or VIP, it includes standard hd Netflix but you can upgrade to the premium tier for an extra £4 per month giving you full 4k... I've just done this because I was sent an excellent renewal offer from BT. VIP at £36 per month for 6 months and then £73. When you add the £4 extra over the contract term, for less less than £10 per month extra  I'm getting all the Entertainment channels and Sky cinema..  👌
