Hi All,
I had a call from Openreach today discussing my new home. I have a pole across the road that supplies neighbouring properties and when I search providers FTTP is available in the lane. I asked the openreach engineer what I needed to do to prepare and he wasn't clear. To be honest I was expecting an engineer to call out to have a look and advise. Fortunately I stumbled across this forum which offers great advice. It looks like the cable will come from the pole and reach my house at a gable at first floor level. I would be happy to have the service enter the house here and could provide power, cabling etc. I would then take the internet downstairs to a "data cupboard" from where all the necessary infrastructure would spread. My question is what should I do to prepare so that I am not in a position in a few months time having to reroute cables etc. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your reply. I have already contacted openreach and have spoken to the engineer. It was a phone call when I was expecting a site visit. The upshot of the call was if we bring the line overhead the installation is free. Despite a number of questions the answer was once you book your service e.g. via BT or SKY they will them deal with the installation. What I was hoping for was some advice regarding what I can do during first fix electrics to plan for a neat and effective installation. Thanks again.
