New switch will not connect IPv4

ave a new network switch, but I can't get the hub (Home Hub 2) to connect, I get this error on the device list:

This device either does not support or is not configured for IPv4 addressing.

is the hub not compatible with the switch?

I presume you mean a managed Ethernet switch. How do you mean you are trying to get the hub to connect to it?  If it's unmanaged, it will just be transparent.
